Make Money at Home - Learn the Secrets Before Starting...

by: Michael A Fowler, M.B.A.
To a lot of people, network Marketing seems an arduous task. But it doesn't have to be that way. Networking can be very rewarding and you can have fun while learning how to make money at home.

Advertising can be accomplished in many different ways. Car stickers to sign posts and beer mats have been used consistently. Business cards coveniently placed in Hotels, Taxi Ranks, Airport departure lounges and hundreds of other suitable venues have produced good results. Making money online doesn't have to be pursued online.

To make money on the Internet, you just have to communicate through all the known mediums available. Be proud of what you represent and make sure that others know you are proud of your business. If you aren't proud of it, then go find something else that you can be proud of representing.

You do not need a highly priced business to make money on the internet. In fact, the lower the price, the more interest your business will receive.

Now this is where people go astray ... Network Marketing is about leverage. It is not about signing up thousands of people in your first week. It's about finding just a few people who find a few people ... and so on.

Remember, the drop out rate for highly priced businesses are substantially more than for the lower priced options. Affordability is a key factor in retaining your associates and your associates are the key factors that allow you to make money at home. Looking after, supporting and mentoring those associates should be your prime purpose in life. They are the people who will ensure your success.

In some businesses, you will not find any support whatsoever. Those are the ones to avoid. Also take a look and see if there is a good marketing system in place. If there isn't, you could run up a sizeable bill in marketing your business with external resources.

Remember, the whole point in starting and maintaining your business is to make money, not to spend it on resources that should have come with the business model.

While automation plays a part in todays marketing environment, it is the personal touches that make the sale. That follow up phone call to say hello, makes a whole lot of difference between success and failure.

To make money online, you have to communicate with those who have taken an interest in your business and you have to assure them that you are the person they need as a sponsor. Are you that dependable person?

Electronic Currency Exchange

by: Timothy Rohrer
Copyright 2005 Timothy Rohrer

One of the easiest ways to make money online today is to learn e-currency trading. Many people have spent countless hours looking for the perfect program that will make them a millionaire over night. The truth is, these programs do not exist. Electronic currency exchange allows people to make a long-term investment that can yield substantial profits in years to come.

There are a number of courses available online that can help anyone get started and become successful in the currency exchange market. These courses offer essential resources and techniques that will help even the novice user make the most of their investment.

The first thing one would do if interested in getting started in e-currency trading is to open a portfolio. After the creation of their portfolio an initial investment is then made. The portfolio will receive daily gains of anywhere from 2.% to .4%. Therefore on a $1,000 investment a user can expect to profit very close to $5 per day. Over the course of a year it is not uncommon to turn an initial investment of $1,000 into a $50,000 portfolio where they will realize profits of $200 a day.

The most recent course that I have looked at has been the Mazu course. The course provides one on one phone support, conference calls, chat rooms, forums, and a beginner and advanced course on how to trade in the e-currency exchange market. After having reviewed the Mazu program it turned out to be a very helpful legitimate program.

Making Money in the Online Dating Gold Rush of 2004

by: John Weisenberger
Copyright 2004 John Weisenberger

Have you noticed the explosion of Websites related to love, sex, matchmaking, relationships, etc.? They're popping up all over the place. Why the sudden popularity you ask? Well, the reason for this "gold rush" towards Online Dating & Relationship Oriented Websites is really quite simple: people are making a lot of money with them!

So how can you claim your share of this exploding marketplace?

Well you could go off and start your own Online Dating service to compete with the likes of eHarmony and Match.com (if that's your idea of fun) but that's really not the best way for small business owners to make money in this, or any, new marketplace.

In reality, the easiest and surest way to make money in any gold rush is selling tools to the prospectors! I think you'll see what I mean in a moment.

In the Beginning...

Consider, if you will, that whenever any new industry begins there are always hundreds of other businesses needed to support it and make it truly complete. For example, just think of all the businesses that are now connected with the automotive industry. Tire companies, glass companies, mechanics, insurance agencies, driving schools, etc..

Your very own Dating & Relationship oriented website could be one of the complimentary businesses supporting the new Online Dating marketplace while generating thousands of dollars of profit in the process.

Complimentary businesses such as relationship advice sites, personal matchmaking services, astrological compatibility testing sites, personal appearance "make over" sites, background checking services, etc., etc., are all possible product or service "tools" needed by today's "romance prospectors" searching for love on the Internet. I'm sure you'll be able to come up with other product and service ideas too if you think about it.

So what other types of relationship oriented businesses are springing up based on the technologies and business models pioneered by the Online Dating sites?

New companies such as Friendster.com and Linkedin.com are two good examples of a new generation of non-dating, non-romantic, relationship building Websites springing up to connect people for business relationships or other social activities. Others will surely follow their lead into this adjacent marketspace and your online business could be one of them.

Setting Up Shop.

Okay, so now that you know the best way to make money online is to sell tools, the next big question you'll need to answer is whether your new Website will be a general store carrying all types of tools or a specialty store providing some type of specific expert service or product. Let's talk about the general merchandise store first.

The General Store

Imagine if you will an 1849's old west general store loaded with canned goods, clothing, kerosene lamps, picks, shovels; everything the local prospectors needed. What would be today's Online Dating equivalent to the general store? Well in our analogy it would be a Dating Directory Website. Here's how they work.

Dating Directory Websites provide a service to their customers by collecting information about all the various Online Dating services in one centralized location. This allows their visitors to comparison shop among the various dating service companies while also making convenience purchases of advice eBooks, romantic gifts, sexy lingerie, etc., while they're browsing the entire "general store." Dating directories make their money from the affiliate sales commissions they are paid by the producers of the products they carry.

If you're thinking of getting into the Online Dating & Relationship Marketplace, setting up your own Dating Directory general store is probably the easiest way to get started. All that's required is the construction of a "store front" Website and then registration with multiple affiliate programs for the products that you want to sell.

Dating Directory startups are easy, low cost and can be built up over time with products you really enjoy selling. In addition, no product development expertise is required because you are essentially just the "shop keeper" selling someone else's products.

However, before you decide to open up your own Online Dating & Relationship product general store, you may what to consider specializing in one particular area of the market where you can carve out a niche of your own. Let's talk about this strategy for a moment.

The Specialty Shop

When it comes to the Online Dating & Relationship marketplace everyone's an expert. Including you!

It's true. Whether you're young or old, single or married, gay or straight, everyone has their own special knowledge about Dating and Relationships that can provide you with the background and knowledge needed to write a newsletter or eBook of your own.

And while I'll admit that writing an entire eBook and setting up your "specialty shop" Website is more work than running a general store Website, the potential rewards are much greater due to the uniqueness of your specialty product and the value you can deliver to your customers. So whatever you do, don't underestimate the power of the knowledge you have to offer. Get started on that newsletter or Ebook today!

Bottom Line...

If you're thinking about starting your own online business, check out this fast growing marketplace. It could be right for you. And remember, if you want to make money without risking the large amounts of capital required to compete with the big guys, don't try to start your own Online Dating "gold mine", sell the dating & relationship "picks and shovels" instead. That's where the little guys win.

Learn To Make Money On eBay

by: Jeff Schuman
So you want to sell stuff on eBay, but you have two minor
problems: you don't know how and you don't have stuff. Not a
problem. Keep reading for some tips to get you pointed in the
right direction to learn to make money on eBay.

Before you begin you’ll need some basic equipment: Computer,
Internet access, digital camera, and some space to put your
stuff. That’s really all you’ll need to get started. You’ll also
need shipping and packing supplies but that is addressed later.

Next you’ll need to learn how to list auctions. Go to the eBay
sellers overview:
http://pages.ebay.com/education/sellingtips/index.html. This
will be your lifeline. There is a plethora of information there
on everything you always wanted to know and more. Don’t be
overwhelmed; just take it one step at a time. You’ll see there
is information on listings, on bidding, on photos, on feedback –
it’s all there.

Next you’ll need to figure out what to sell. Before you zero in
on a particular niche you need some experience and some
feedback. Buyers are generally leery of buying from someone who
is brand new and has a feedback rating of less than 10
evaluations. While you are getting your feet wet, look around
your own house first. You’d be amazed at what people buy. You
could list outgrown clothing, magazines, candle holders, CD,
books, flannel sheets, recipes, the ugly old lamp that was Aunt
Mildred’s, all those goofy Christmas gifts sitting in your
basement, that old baby gate with a stain on it. Get the idea?
You never know what someone will want.

Although you need experience, you don’t want to list something
that isn’t likely to sell. Do your research first before you
invest the time in putting together a listing. An easy method to
use is do a “search” on eBay, then look up COMPLETED ITEMS, then
sort by HIGHEST price. Then you’ll see if your Tommy Bahama
shirt is really worth anything. Or you’ll see that your old
baseball cards had 23 listings and not one of them sold.

Pricing is another challenge. Again, you’ll need to do your
research. See what they’re going for. Don’t have overly high
expectations. You know how you feel when you go to a garage sale
and you see a pair of jeans for $15 or books for $4 each. Many
people come to eBay to look for a bargain. Consider how much you
have into the item. If you have an item from around the house,
you may consider that something is better than nothing, so you
may be inclined to start the bidding quite low. If you bought it
with the specific intention to resell, you will, at the very
minimum, want to break even, so take the price you paid for it
and consider other costs, i.e. listing fees, final value fees
(all explained in your lifeline – eBay seller overview above).
People are much more apt to bid if the bidding starts LOW.
Sometimes though, you will have collectibles that are worth a
chunk of money. Don’t give away that vintage postcard that is
worth $56! Do your homework.

The next big question is how do you get paid? You determine what
you would accept. Online payments such as PayPal (paypal.com)
are very convenient. You can also decide that you’ll accept
money orders or personal checks. The more options you leave your
buyers, the more likelihood you’ll get more bids.

You also need to decide how you want to ship your items to the
winners. Many sellers use USPS, others prefer UPS. If you use
USPS and ship via Priority Mail, you can get your envelopes and
boxes free from USPS. If you ship First Class or Parcel Post or
UPS, you’ll have to shop around for deals on boxes or envelopes
and bubble wrap or packing peanuts.

Overwhelmed yet? Yes there is a lot to learn, but it’s not
nuclear science. Just take it one step at a time. It’s a
learning process. Some yahoo groups (or MSN or AOL, or whatever
your preference) are great sources for support and camaraderie
with others who are doing the same.

So in summary, if you want to just “start pushing buttons” and
learn to make money on eBay on your own, YOU CAN DO IT. If you
do better chatting with others, those resources are available
too. Use what is available.

How Do You Make Money Online?

by: Darrell Knox
If you learn how other people make money online, I mean really study how it’s done and ask a lot of questions, there is no reason in the world you cannot make money on the internet as well.
How do people make money with websites? There are literally tens of thousands of things people make money on from the net. From hard goods of all kinds (anything that can be shipped, including cars and boats!) to information and memberships.

People make money selling insurance, car parts, reports on every imaginable topic people want to know more about, selling affiliate products, and even fundraising for charity!

That’s right! People make money helping their favorite charities raise money. By creating an in-demand product for a charity to sell to their members, and letting them keep at least 50%, you can make money as a professional fundraiser.

I know someone who makes money selling a dog biscuit and dog food cookbook! That’s right, a cookbook for dog lovers to make treats for their pets. I told you! Anything goes on the net as long as there are buyers looking for what you sell.

It’s truly mind boggling how some people make money online. You just have to be creative and understand how the net works and how people shop online. You have to know how to get into the search engines so people can find you.

And most of all you need a couple good ideas, or find other people with great ideas and sell THEIR stuff for commission! There is no excuse for failure – the world of internet marketing is your oyster!

There are tons of resource sites that can help you understand every single minute detail of making money online from setting up a website to choosing a hosting service to taking credit cards and filling orders. There’s nothing else like it in the world.

I have a site that helps people find ways to make money online. I make money with information products, and help others learn how to make money online doing the same thing.

Some people make money on Ebay auctioning things people are searching for right now all over the world. Still other people sell their time as Virtual Assistants helping busy executives and other business owners complete mundane but important tasks the business owner has no time to do.

With some referrals, over time you can be busier than you ever imagined with clients beating down your door because they heard you do great work at reasonable rates. All this without ever meeting ANY of your clients face-to-face. Working online makes working for people in other countries a snap, as long as you speak the language, it’s no different than if the person you sell to or work with lives right down the street.

Bottom line: You CAN make money online if you are the type of person who is a self-starter and motivated to work toward your goals even when the going gets tough.

How to Build Your List – 7 Powerful Strategies

by: Trent Brownrigg

I grant permission to publish this article, electronically or in print, as long as the bylines are included, with a live link, and the article is not changed in any way (grammatical corrections accepted).

How to Build Your List – 7 Powerful Strategies

If you have been an internet marketer, or had any type of online home based business, for more than a few days, then you will no doubt have heard someone say, "if you want to make money online, you have to build an opt-in list."

Take that advice very seriously, because it’s true! It took me a long time to finally let the list building advice sink in, so I didn’t start doing it until I had my home business for quite a while. However, once I started building my list, I realized just how important it truly is. My only regret now is that I didn’t start a lot sooner.

There are numerous ways to build an opt-in list. However, some are much more effective than others. So, I decided to share seven of the most powerful strategies to build a targetted opt-in list.

Here are seven tips for building your opt-in list, in no particular order:

1) Free Newsletter – Offering a free newsletter from your website is one of the most common, and effective ways to build an opt-in list. It is also one of the best strategies for building trusting relationships with your list.

Pack your newsletter full of useful information, free resources, tips, tools, and anything else your subscriber list will be interested in. Also, be sure to make it fun and add your personality to it. Then your subscribers will enjoy reading it and get to know you at the same time.

2) Make It Easy to Subscribe – To maximize your newsletter sign-ups, you must also have a quick and easy way for people to subscribe to it. The best way to do this is to put a simple form on the top part of the left hand column of your websites home page, and all other pages, if possible.

Put a quick sentence or two telling them why your newsletter would benefit them (i.e. freebies, resources, tips, tools, etc…) then have a way for them to add their email address and name below it. This simple form will bring in a lot of your subscriber list.

3) Quality Content – Packing your website full of quality content will bring in a lot of visitors. Many of these visitors will then subscribe to your newsletter. Your list will grow naturally and so will your search engine rankings, which will bring even more visitors who can join your list. It will eventually turn into a list building, money making cycle.

4) Forums – There are literally thousands of forums and discussion boards on the internet where people go to discuss all sorts of things and ask questions. All you have to do is find forums related to your particular business and particpate in the discussion.

Most of the forums allow you to put a signature line under your post, which is where you can put a link to your subscription information. Do not spam the forums in any way. Make absolutely certain you offer legitimate posts, with useful information, or you will ruin your reputation in no time.

5) Write Articles – This is well-known technique for establishing yourself as an expert in your field and getting inbound links to your site. Furthermore, it is just as effective for building your opt-in list. All you have to do it put a link to your newsletter subscription in the byline of the article and submit the article to websites, directories, and ezines.

I think writing articles is actually one of the best ways to build your list because the readers already see you as an expert. They will think of you as a knowledgeable individual and someone they can trust before they even join your list. Profits will roll in much faster from these subscribers.

6) Co-Registration – This is something you may have never even heard of, but it is used by many top internet marketers to build huge lists in a very short amount of time. I actually first learned of this list building technique after reading an article from one of the top marketing experts on the internet.

Rather than go on about what co-registration lists are, instead I am going to simply tell you that they are a very effective way to build a monster list in a short amount of time. You can find my recommended co-registration service at http://work-at-home-jobs-iowa.com/nlb.html . At their website you will be able to learn more about what co-registration lists are and how they work.

7) Write an E-book – Internet marketers are always looking for freebies to give away on their websites, as bonuses for purchases, and to send to their lists. This is a great opportunity for you to build your own list. All you have to do is write an e-book and let other internet marketers give it away.

The e-book doesn’t have to be anything too elaborate; you can just make it a collection of your best articles, business tips, and business resources. Of course, you will put links to your newsletter subscription and website. Then, give it away, and watch it turn into a viral list building machine.

There you have it, seven powerful strategies that are sure to build your opt-in list. Putting these list building strategies into play as soon as possible will quickly sky-rocket your list numbers, and increase your profits, more than you could have ever imagined.

There’s An Internet Sucker Born Every Minute

by: Donna Monday
Step right up and get your free easy moneymaking opportunities!

Come on ladies and gents, see the amazing home Internet based business opportunity!

Make incredible huge amounts of money on the Internet!

It’s almost that time of year again when that greatest show online begins. Right after the holidays, people begin giving their lifestyles the once over. Many will decide to create a better lifestyle for themselves and their families by working at home.

Dreams of quitting their jobs and making a decent living with only a little effort and the right moneymaking opportunities on the Internet is all they need to make a fresh start.

While these sincere folks are busy making plans, there’s another gang of people just waiting in the shadows for the trusting shark bait . . I mean, people, to jump online. Let’s call them the Internet sharks. And their mantra is:

“There’s An Internet Sucker Born Every Minute.”

Now I know that most of you looking to make serious money on the Internet are not trying to purposely get scammed out of your hard earned dollars, but you’re often blinded - by your enthusiasm for pursuing work at home jobs and opportunities - to the dangers of the professional con artists.

The sharks are very careful to create a professional look and feel to their work at home scams. Often they will dangle tantalizing ways to make easy money online. They’ll tell you it’s free to make money online. How fast and effortless it all is. In no time you’ll be living in grand style. Yeah, right.

Nothing in this world is free and that includes business opportunities. Someone is going to collect their money from these good folks – even when it’s “free to join.” Watch out for that hand quietly slipping into your back pocket and cleaning out your credit card while you’re being told how much money you’re going to make.

Remember that to do business in the offline world it costs start up money. It’s no different online. To build a successful online income, you’ve got to start out with legitimate work at home jobs and opportunities.

The bad news is that these kinds of legitimate work at home opportunities are like finding a needle in a haystack. You have to go through tons of hay before finding that precious needle.

When you do find the right home business ideas for your lifestyle and budget, then you will have to work VERY HARD and SMART in order to make it succeed. There is a high frustration rate for people coming online to seek their fortunes. Many never make one thin dime.

To avoid this happening to you, the first thing you should do when you find something you’re interested in is ASK questions. You can use google to search for any negatives and positives about your chosen opportunity.

The Internet is great for finding out the truth about the best home based business opportunities AND the lemons. The Internet is a big community and many people are willing to share their experiences and horror stories.

A great message board to ask about home business opportunities is: Friends in Business http://friendsinbusiness.com/board1/index.cgi?

A new year is beginning and it’s great to feel that rush of excitement as you go about your goal of creating a better life for yourself. However, before you plop down that wad of cash on a “sure thing” remember that success doesn’t happen overnight (not even for all those Internet gurus), and in order to be really successful online you need to slow down and first learn strategic Internet marketing.

This means a lot of reading and studying from people who have been there and done that successfully. Hint: message boards are great for this.

So happy New Year and stay away from those sharks. Don’t let them make a poor Internet sucker out of you.
